The fashion industry has been an influential source to today's society. From gossip and fashion magazines to celebrities and the media, a variety of women have been greatly influenced by false images promoted by this industry. While the fashion industry claims that images of women seen in magazines and in the media are beautiful and the ideal type, they have failed to mention that they have been distorted. Many young girls have been bombarded with unrealistic images of women and are beginning to feel less confident and more uncomfortable with their body image. This issue needs emphasizing because many young girls are suffering from poor self-esteem, maintaining unhealthy diets, and even developing multiple eating disorders.

With the fashion industry's' growing popularity, many young girls are becoming trapped within the unrealistic expectations they produce daily through their advertisements and media influence and eventually form distorted body images. After viewing these unrealistic images, many young girls internalize these images as representing a standard of beauty which is unattainable. This may lead some young girls and women to develop eating disorders. In between the outstanding gap of reality and what is perceived in the fashion industry, many young women are struggling to find peace with their own bodies.

Thanks to the way the media depicts woman many woman become unsatisfied with there bodies and look down on themselves. They idolizes the woman they see in magazines, TV, music videos and even social media. More and more woman do whatever they can to try and look like the woman they see that they start developing eating disorders starving themselves to be considered beautiful. Our blog will give a deeper look on the truths of what this all does to many woman.
